Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has started the construction of his $42 million project to build a mechanical clock that will last 10,000 years.
The man behind the idea, Danny Hillis, began talking about the idea for the timepiece that will last 10 millennia in 1995.
I want to build a clock that ticks once a year. The century hand advances once every 100 years, and the cuckoo comes out on the millennium. I want the cuckoo to come out every millennium for the next 10,000 years. - Danny Hillis
The clock will be built deep inside a mountain in western Texas and will stand approximately 500 feet tall.
Bezos invested his money in the project because of his belief that "humanity" needs to invest in their future.
Over the lifetime of this clock, the United States won’t exist. Whole civilizations will rise and fall. New systems of government will be invented. You can’t imagine the world — no one can — that we’re trying to get this clock to pass through. - Jeff Bezos
No official completion date has been announced, but it will be open to the public as soon as it is finished.
The woman who gained attention worldwide for marrying a pirate ghost is now claiming that she recently had a pregnancy scare.
Amanda Teague, 45, told daytime show Loose Woman that she missed her monthly cycle and a Doctor informed her it could only mean that she was pregnant.
Teague then went and talked to her husband Jack, an 18th century Caribbean pirate, who told explained to her: "It is not possible for a spirit to biologically have a child with a human being, so I'm quite safe."
Teague has 5 children from a previous marriage.
Teague is a Jack Sparrow impersonator herself and claims that her husband also resembles Johnny Depp's character in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean.
Twelve guests attended the couple's wedding ceremony and she says her family are completely supportive of her relationship with the 300-year-old ghost.
"We became really close - the more I learnt about him, the more I liked him. One day, he said to me: 'We can actually be together you know', but I had never heard of an intimate relationship between a spirit and a human before."
You can feel the weight of the spirit, their touch, the pressure. You can literally feel the physical act of what the spirit is doing to you, and the spirit can feel it too.
We have been told over and over that money can buy everything except happiness or love. eHarmony conducted a survey and it seems that at least half of that statement is false.
The dating site asked 2,000 "everyday Americans" currently in relationships how they felt about their current love situations. 64 percent of them reported that they were happy with their life and partner.
When the dating site asked the same question to households that make $200,000 or more per year, being "happy" was elevated to "completely in love" 71 percent of the time.
With 27 percent of arguments stemming from money issues, it really is no wonder that more money in a relationship means less problems.

A couple who laughs together, stays together.
Marriage is not always sunshine and rainbows. If you are able to find the humor in it, it makes life a lot easier.
Here are some of the most hilarious (yet... relate-able) tweets that could only come from a true married person.
This chilling video shows a ghost bike slowly driving down a Malaysian highway and it appears to be driver-less.
Since being posted, it has had over 1.5 million views and is sparking a huge internet debate: is it real or not?
One viewer commented, "Oh my goodness, this is so eerie. I'm getting goosebumps. If it were me, I would turn the throttle to the maximum and get out of there."
Another joked, "This ghost must have died due to rempit. It's giving a warning to others so we don't end up like that."
Mat Rempit is a Malaysian term for any individual who participates in immoral activities and public disturbances using a motorcycle as their main form of transportation.
Others are not so convinced about the authenticity of the video.
One viewer added, "My boyfriend said that the rider actually fell down from the bike that is why the motor was still moving even without a rider.. Only God knows."
The camera man nor the biker have yet to be identified.
The hardest thing about love is that everyone loves and needs to be loved in different ways. It is important to keep reminding your partner that you care about them in new ways to keep the relationship healthy. Here are some simple ways to remind that special someone that they are special to you.
You may know that flashing light can induce photosensitive epileptic seizures, but scientists are now discovering that some still images can trigger seizures as well.
Some researchers have hypothesized that our brains are not comfortable with extreme stripe patterns and doesn't know how to properly process these images. Looking at vertical lines can trigger a neural loop of brain activity, which in severe cases can lead to epilepsy.
Researchers think there may also be a link to vertical lines and migraines. The study authors believe that stripes in clothing, buildings or public artworks could be triggering disabling headaches, particularly in people who are already sensitive to light.
"Even perfectly healthy people may feel modest discomfort from the images that are most likely to trigger seizures in photosensitive epilepsy." said Dr. Dora Hermes
Every year since 1989, the IceHotel has been redesigned and rebuilt in the village of Jukkasjarvi next to the shores of the Torne River.
The 28th version of the hotel has just opened for winter and the whole thing is mind blowing. This year, the artists used 30,000 cubic meters of snow and ice and 500 tons of clear natural ice for glass.
A total of 36 artists from 17 different countries around the world were chosen to help design and build this year’s hotel, which opened on December 15.
It also features 35 uniquely designed deluxe suites, an ice ceremony hall and a brand new frozen playground for children. Also for the younger guests, a creative snow park has been sectioned off from the rest of the hotel where children can make snow angels, build mini ice hotels and even carve their own designs into a special snow fortress.
Dorset-based sculptor and taxidermist Lisa Lindqvist has created another suite called A Wandering Cloud, which features a huge ice-carved cloud hanging over the frozen bed.
A Tennessee woman gave birth using a 24 year old frozen embryo, conceived only 18 months after herself was born. That makes baby Emma the longest known frozen embryo to come to birth.
The National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) announced Tuesday that the baby girl was born on November 25 to Tina Gibson, who is 26 years old. Which means that Gibson gave birth to an embryo that was only 1.5 years younger than she was.
Baby Emma was cyropreserved in 1992 and placed in Gibson's uterus earlier this year through "frozen embryo transfer".
“Emma is such a sweet miracle,” Benjamin Gibson, Tina’s husband, said. “I think she looks pretty perfect to have been frozen all those years ago.”
Dr. Jeffrey Kennan, the Director of NEDC, says that he hopes that baby Emma's story inspires others to help families in need and donate their embryos.
Nearly 700 pregnancies have been possible thanks to the center's adoption center with eggs donated from all over the United States.
Emma was about 20 inches at birth and weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz.
“It is deeply moving and highly rewarding to see that embryos frozen 24.5 years ago using the old, early cryopreservation techniques of slow freezing on day one of development at the pronuclear stage can result in 100 percent survival of the embryos with a 100 percent continued proper development to the Day-3 embryo stage,” said NEDC Lab Director, Carol Sommerfelt.
